How a Salesforce integration works, in four steps

Connect

Connect the tools you already use.

Each tool, like Gmail, Slack or QuickBooks, has a connector. Every step in your flow uses one. Sign in once with a team account such as sales@, so your flows keep running when people change roles.

  • Sign in with a team account
  • Test the connection
Build

Describe it. Copilot builds the flow.

Test

Test it before it goes live.

Turn it on and watch every run.

By team

Every team around Salesforce gets its own automations

Marketing, DevOps and finance all end up needing Salesforce connected to something else. Start from one of these, or describe your own to Copilot.

Marketing

Qualified lead to campaign

When a Lead is qualified in Salesforce, add them to a Mailchimp audience and let the sales channel know in Slack.

DevOps & IT

Urgent case to engineering ticket

When a high-priority Case opens in Salesforce, create the Jira issue and alert the on-call channel in Slack.

Accounting & finance

Payment to books, automatically

When a Stripe payment succeeds, update the Opportunity in Salesforce and record the invoice in QuickBooks.

Features

Everything your team needs to automate Salesforce

  • Describe the automation in plain English. Copilot adds the steps in order, edits flows you already have, and tells you what it couldn’t finish.

  • See the whole flow as a simple map of connected steps. Click any step to set it up, and reuse information from earlier steps, like the customer name from Salesforce, with a click.

  • Already use Salesforce Flow? Call an Edge Connect flow from it, or start one automatically when a record changes. Developers can call it from Apex too.

  • See each run step by step, filter by flow or by errors, and find the failed step fast.

  • Most flows run on their own. When a decision needs a person, like approving a loan or a discount, add an approval step. The approver gets an email, decides, and the flow continues down the right path.

FAQ

Edge Connect, explained simply

New to Salesforce integrations? Start here. Still have a question? Talk to our team.

What is Edge Connect?

Edge Connect is an integration app for Salesforce. It lets your team connect Salesforce to other systems, like QuickBooks, HubSpot, Jira or Slack, and automate the work between them without writing code. You install it from AppExchange and launch it from Salesforce.

What is a flow?

A flow is an automation that runs on its own. It always starts with a trigger, like “an opportunity is Closed Won,” and continues with actions, like “send an email in Gmail” or “post in Slack.” Each tool a flow talks to is one step.

Do I need a developer?

No. Whoever manages your Salesforce, a dedicated admin or someone in ops, can build a flow three ways: describe it to Copilot in plain English, start from a template, or build it step by step on the canvas. For a very specific rule you can add a little JavaScript, but most flows never need it.

How does Copilot work?

You write what you want, like “when a new lead comes in, alert the team in Slack.” Copilot adds the steps to the canvas, connects them in order and names each one. Then it lists anything it couldn’t finish, such as an account you still need to connect. It can also edit a flow you already have.

Can I test a flow before it goes live?

Yes. Test Flow runs the flow again with data from the last real run, and test runs don’t count toward your plan. When it works the way you want, click Activate.

Does every flow need an approval?

No. Most flows run on their own from start to finish. You only add an approval step when a decision needs a person, like signing off on a loan or a large discount.

How much does Edge Connect cost?

Edge Connect costs $49 per user per month, with discounts for nonprofits. You can see current pricing details on the AppExchange listing.

What if the tool I need isn’t in the catalog?

Ask us. More connectors are available than the ones shown by default. You can also call a system’s API with the built-in utilities, without code. And if you need something specific, our team can build a custom connector for you.

What admins say about Edge Connect

This app has been a game-changer for us. We were able to set up our Quickbooks integration quickly and efficiently, all without writing a single line of code.

Maddie McPhillips

Edge Connect allowed us to configure these integrations quite quickly, without writing a single line of code. … We now have our admin building integrations, without the need to hire a developer!
